Tibetan Foot Soaks (DIY)
"When a tree dies, it is the roots that die first.
When a person ages, it is the feet that age first.
--Ancient Chinese Proverb
DCA is partnered with some amazing Chinese medical doctors who have tested and perfected a foot soak formula of Chinese and Tibetan herbs to improve your overall health and well being. These wild crafted herbs were once reserved for emperors of China and lamas of Tibet but through their special connections in the region, we are able to bring them to you - Farm to Clinic. These doctors rest a lot of the successes in their clinic on the use of these foot soaks for treating many intractable health issues including:
-
nerve pain, peripheral neuropathy
-
fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue
-
arthritis (both osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis)
-
gynecological disorders, including endometriosis, painful menstruation
-
IBS and other digestive disorders
-
endocrine disorders
-
chronic stress, insomnia
-
cardiopathy,circulatory disorders
-
infertility
-
gentle detox
Soaking your feet in a basin of this soothing herbal infusion is more than just relaxing; it’s potent medicine. The capillaries ending on the feet serve as little "highways of health" to the rest of the body. These foot soaks work by improving micro-circulation to remove old and dead tissue first from the feet but then throughout the body over time when used for several weeks to months.
The soaks can be used in conjunction with acupuncture for specific ailments or on their own for general immune and stress support. For a very thorough explanation of the herbal foot soaks, listen to this podcast by Andrew Miles at Botanical Biohacking Podcast.
The soaks are in the form of tea bags, and are sold through DCA to be self administered at home. Frequency is important, and varies depending on the condition. Especially for more severe conditions, daily soaks are often required initially for a short period of time, ideally during a course of acupuncture treatment. We often recommend consistent foot soak treatments over a period of three to four months.
