Reflexology
Healing Art of the Ancients
Reflexology is a holistic non-invasive treatment by which the feet are massaged and manipulated, stimulating thousands of nerve endings. It can be performed on the hands and ears as well, with effective benefits. It has been practiced around the world and throughout history, with archaeological evidence dating back to Egypt (2330 BCE), China (2704 BCE) and Japan (690 CE).
The principle of reflexology is based on the idea that certain reflex areas on the feet have a whole body association, mirroring that of the body’s internal organs, glands and muscles, as well as the skeletal structure.
By applying pressure in a specific way to certain parts of the feet, reflexology helps to stimulate the body’s own healing processes. This ‘re-tunes’ and returns balance, allowing the person to achieve physical and emotional well-being. Because of advertising restrictions, claims are not allowed to be made about the effectiveness of reflexology with specific conditions. However, research has demonstrated the efficacy of this wonderful therapy.
